We created this website to assist people in making decisions about building boats at home, with their own two hands.  We hope to convey a sufficient amount of information about the various types of boats, materials required to build them, tools, and plans, so that one can make an informed decision.

We discuss in some detail the various boat building methods, so that you may be informed before you decide which type of boat you might build.  In the long run, we hope to provide you with enough information that you may complete a build and have your own boat.  We feel that building a boat is the most cost effective way to become a boat owner, and there is the added satisfaction of the fact that you built the boat with your own blood, sweat, and tears.

If you have ever considered a boat building project, we hope this site will provide you with the information you have been searching for.  If you have any comments, questions, or concerns, we would like to hear from you.  We are also interested in hearing your accounts of home boat building, and photos that you have taken of your builds.
